My Top 3 Dream Destinations in the Philippines

There is a saying in Filipino (and I would translate in English) that goes, “Do not be a tourist/ stranger” in your own land. Being away from the Philippines for more than three years now, I have visited some tourist destinations here in Thailand.

Many times the Thais would ask me if the Philippine beaches are more beautiful than theirs.  Of course, being the nationalistic person that I am, I want to answer “of course” right at their faces but the sad fact is, I have not been to most of the beaches that the Philippines proudly boasts of.  Sure, I have seen them in photographs, but in my mind, I really want to set foot on these dream destinations!

So if you have to ask me what are my top 3 dream destinations in the Philippines, it would be:

1.  El Nido, Palawan

Palawan is called as the “Last Ecological Frontier of the Philippines” and boasts of its high bio-diversity, scenic landscapes and pristine beaches.  I really want to be in this paradise one day!

2. Bohol Beach Club

Bohol beach club, from reviews I’ve read, is still quieter than Boracay.  It is ideal for plain rest and recreation.  Isn’t that beach inviting?  Bohol Beach Club is also haven to diving enthusiasts.  I am not that, but I can be one!  Why not?

3.  Boracay

Ok, I admit it.  I am curious about Boracay, so I am putting it number 3 on my list.  Whether we like it or not, Boracay still tops our country’s tourist destinations.  Boracay boasts of miles and miles of white sand beaches with the most beautiful sunset.  For those who love parties and nightlife, Boracay is a perfect choice for a vacation, as well.
